Simply Stampin' Challenge #70 - Sketch & DT Feature

Hi Stampers!

This week we get to know one of our Design Team a little more and find out what
it is about crafting that she loves.... so it's over to Ruth!

1) Why do you like most about SU!?
The excellent quality, the great design, different styles and the co-ordination
- really, what's not to love?!

2) How long have you been crafting for?
I'm a late blooming crafter! I wasn't crafty as a child and I've never got the hang of sewing or knitting! I've been stamping for around ten years. Prior to that I did jewellery making for a few years, beading mainly. The stamping world is predominantly female oriented but I was I was introduced to rubber stamping by my next door neighbour and friend Barry. He let me borrow stamps and inks and he took me to my first craft show. One of the stall holders handed me a pen and a piece of card and told me to write my name. I was bemused 'cos the ink was clear but he asked me to choose a jar from the selection on his demo table, I chose one and he sprinkled powder from the jar, heated it and showed me the coloured, sparkly result. That was it, my first "oooooh" heat embossing moment!
I was hooked!

3) What are your 3 desert island SU! items? (things you just can't craft without)
Oh, that's tough to narrow it down to 3!
If I discount stamps, ink and cardstock I would have to plump for
Stamp-a-ma-jig, sponge daubers and the Eyelet Border punch.

4) What is your favourite SU! colour?
Oh my goodness, I have so many faves, I can't possibly pick just one! Rose Red,
Old Olive and Rich Razzleberry will have to share top honours!

5) Which is your most reached for stamp set?
That would be Sincere Salutations - but leaving aside sentiments it
would be Vintage Vogue.

6) Your favourite three SU! projects that you've made:

7) What inspires your crafting creativity?
So many things! Nature, shop displays, displays in galleries, packaging
and clothing in colours or patterns that attract me. I was in Tesco one afternoon
and just had to take a sneaky photo of a lady's hat with my phone as the colour
combo was so attractive! I try to look for inspiration everywhere.
Other crafter's creativity is always a great source of inspiration too.
There is so much gorgeous eye candy to be seen and it's
lovely that this hobby promotes the sharing of creativity.
I joined Pinterest a while back and that's been fabulous!

8) What is your favourite crafting technique?
I would have to say stamping is my true fave - and sponging
also has to get a mention!

I hope everyone has enjoyed finding out a little more more about Ruth, pop on
over to her blog to see more of her stunning creations!

We had another round of lovely entries for last week's 'Vintage' challenge so
thank you to everyone who played along, these are our Top 3...
Well done ladies, thanks for playing along!

designer paper, punch or die.

And this is what the Design Team came up with...
